Laboratory specialists from the Department of disease prevention and the State sanitary and epidemiological surveillance are introducing an innovative method for diagnosing infectious pathogens β nanopore sequencing using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) devices. The first tests are being conducted on frozen positive COVID-19 samples.

The ONT nanopore sequencing method opens up wide possibilities β it can be used not only for tuberculosis and COVID-19, but also for any pathogens if DNA is isolated.
